No carton spool holder, it is plastic, which is great for ams users!! No tangling of the spool in ams, solid good prints with no errors, easy application and easy to refill as the spool mostly gets blocked at the end when it is attached too tight to the spool. Great quality filament, recommend it a LOT!!
